Another offering from the Organized Noize camp (Goodie Mob, Outkast), Cool Breeze's debut doesn't measure up to that of his southern neighbors, but remains solid throughout. Breeze's storytelling prowess is on display with "Black Gangster," and the syncopated drumming on "Hit Man" lures you in to Breeze's "Dirty South." The album's undisputed highlight is "Watch for the Hook," where a pounding posse cut, featuring rapid-fire rhymes from Goodie Mob and Outkast, make for one of 1999's most memorable rap tracks.
