Since ex-Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider wrote and starred in the 1998 horror movie Strangeland, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the soundtrack is comprised of 100% heavy metal. By combining already established bands with new groups and mixing unreleased tracks with overlooked album cuts, the soundtrack for Strangeland is easily one of the best heavy metal soundtracks ever released. The majority of Pantera and Marilyn Manson fans will already be familiar with their tracks, "Where You Come From" and "Sweet Tooth," respectively, but there's plenty of rarities you won't find anywhere else. New tracks by Coal Chamber ("Not Living"), Megadeth ("A Secret Place"), Sevendust ("Breathe"), and dayinthelife (a cover of Twisted Sister's "Street Justice") are definite highlights, as is a new track by a re-formed Twisted Sister ("Heroes Are Hard to Find"). The Strangeland soundtrack gives yet another reason to believe that heavy metal is far from becoming extinct any time soon.
