Thicker Than Water Review by Steve Huey

The double-disc soundtrack to rapper Mack 10's directorial debut, Thicker Than Water features additional contributions by such artists as Ice Cube, Big Pun, Fat Joe, MC Eiht, Children of Da Ghetto, CJ Mac, and 8Ball & Big Duke, among others. Even employing this sampler approach, the difficulties of producing enough high-quality material to make a consistently engaging double-disc hip-hop set are apparent, as there's some obvious filler here. However, high points do appear often, and the coexistence of West Coast and East Coast elements is an encouraging sign of things to come.
