Compton's Greatest Rap, Vol. 2 is a budget-priced collection that contains some of the greatest hip-hop cuts from Compton in its nine tracks. NWA's "Straight Outta Compton," Ice Cube's "Steady Mobbin'," Wreckin' Cru's "Cabbage Patch" and Compton's Most Wanted's "This Is Compton" are all classics or near-classics, but the remainder of the record is either undistinguished or flat-out bad. There are enough good moments to make it worth its budget price, but it remains of primary interest to gangsta rap junkies.
