Trip So Far roots itself in indiepop of the smooth and sweet variety, but reaches out in a few other directions: first, there's Kramer's production, which always lends a reverb-drenched spaciness to any recording; second, there are the baroque and art-rock inspired vocals, courtesy of Mary Asque, which point toward the band's 4AD influences. The record is, unfortunately, probaby a bit too sweet and slick -- there's a decent appeal to these songs, but they fall into one too many dated tricks to seem very noteable.
