KINGDOM OF WELCOME ADDICTION is the third release by IAMX, the cybernetic alter-ego of electro-pop composer Chris Corner (Sneaker Pimps). The follow-up to 2006’s THE ALTERNATIVE, the album features a tightly-wound post-pop aesthetic and cynical yet impassioned lyrical base. Vaguely reminiscent of early Nine Inch Nails, KINGDOM is a less a dance floor opus than a cold, calculated soundscape that echoes one man’s insomnia-induced depression.
