AllMusic Review by Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Besides being yet another in a seemingly endless series WWF album tie-ins, WWF: Aggression is a collection of entrance themes for wrestlers, as performed by such hardcore hip-hoppers as Method Man, Snoop Dogg, C-Murder, Ice-T, Mystikal and Ras Kass, Mack 10, and the priceless duo of Kool Keith and Ol' Dirty Bastard. The fact that the Kool Keith and ODB cut, which doesn't really live up to expectations, is still the best item here sort of illustrates the problem with Aggression: It's all straight-ahead hardcore rap, targeted at WWF's audience. And since it is targeted at the organization's male adolescent audience, it's just thuggish without being particularly inventive. Of course, if that's what you're looking for -- blunt hip-hop that isn't as brutal as it appears (more bluster than bite) -- this delivers. Really, though, it will only be of interest to wrestling fans, not to hip-hop fanatics.
