Drinking from the same well as Black Sabbath and Sleep, Sloth presents the listener with oppressive doom rock and ominous sonic sludge. Never descending into self-indulgent noise-fests, this group maintains a recognizable rhythm and melody, even if that melody is attenuated to the point of being absorbed as another rhythm line. This should succeed with fans of heavy '70s rock and stoner rock.
