AllMusic Review by Steve Huey
Up Your Alley returned Joan Jett to the pop Top Ten with the catchy, crunching rocker "I Hate Myself for Loving You." Despite that success, however, the rest of the album doesn't quite add up; a cover of Chuck Berry's "Tulane" is the only track that matches the single's energy, and the Desmond Child collaboration "Little Liar" was a minor follow-up hit, but most of the material is rather thin. [A Japanese reissue of the CD appeared in 2004.]
