In 2004, the all-female '80s pop-metal outfit Vixen was the subject of VH-1's Bands Reunited program. But outside of the program, the original lineup failed to reunite, as guitarist Jan Kuehnemund headed up an all-new Vixen lineup (comprised solely of Kuehnemund and a new cast of characters). 2006 saw a pair of releases, an all new studio album, Live & Learn, as well as a live set, Extended Versions. The latter release sees the new Vixen lineup bashing out such classics as "Edge of a Broken Heart" and "Cryin'," which sound just as close to glossy pop as you can get, and still be considered a rock band. Undoubtedly most longtime fans would have preferred a live set from the original Vixen lineup (something they failed to release during the first go-round), but Extended Versions shows that Kuehnemund and company have no problem replicating the once thriving Bon Jovi/Poison/Winger sound.
