Welcome to the dark side of … the dead.
Six Feet Under, who has almost invented this style, is back with a new macabre dance called True Carnage.
Where old school death bands place some melodies here and there, True Carnage is full of guttural vocals (who can only wake up the dead actually) combine with fast or very slow tempos. If the intention of Six Feet Under was to afraid us, let's admit that the emotion and the atmosphere coming out this record is a success in terms of fear.
I will definitely not put this CD while walking outside in the middle of the night. Impulse To Disembowel or The Day The Dead Walked will immediately give you the overall feeling of True Carnage. I suppose that a dead guys talk like this in fact when he arrives in hell and I also suppose that death becomes a fearing experience when is comes to Six Feet Under ....
Fans of guttural ambiance, don't miss this one. At the end, the fast tempo tracks are really excellent and are the one I like most. Production reinforce this deadly place and the sound is also a fearing factor.
Don't be too much astonished if you have the feeling that you walls move, that dead spirits have invaded your room and that fear is taking the control of your brain and your body, because this was exactly the mission of Six Feet Under with True Carnage.
A bit short however. After all, even though this is very heavy to digest, 34'00 is quite small for a full day .... or night !!!
