Review by Lars Christiansen for The Metal Cyrpt.com
Demolition Hammer was one of those bands that missed the 80's heyday of Thrash whilst still making somewhat of an impact in the underground in the early 90's (just when Thrash's uglier brother Death Metal was coming into its prime). However, this fact they came late doesn't mean they missed the boat — this is one angry as hell Thrash album which kicks all kinds of arse (so angry that it at times borders on Death Metal — a sound that is possibly made more apparent by the infamous Scott Burns production job).
With a deathly guitar tone that breaks faces at ten paces, these guys set out their crushing vision of Thrash from the very off, with the chugging triplet notes and head snapping riffery coupled with bitterly spat vocal work working together perfectly to leave an indelible steel toe-capped dent in your ear drums. Back this up with double bass drum battery and bounding bass, and you have a moshing masterwork for all the family. With all the classic Thrash lyrical topic bases touched upon in Steve Reynolds' fantastic pissed off tone, the badass guitars and bestial drums are highlighted even more, taking on even more of an invigorating and angrier tone alongside them. There's really not much not to like here - even for the most jaded of ears, this is almost certainly guaranteed to rejuvenate even the most ardent of naysayers.
The best musical comparison I can make for these guys would be to say that they sound like a cross between Exhorder and Slayer, with a few gang vocals thrown in and touches of early Sepultura's Death Metal bite. So, if that sounds like your thing (if it doesn't — the website you were looking for was www.Ilovedisco.com), hunt this down in any shape or form to get that hair flailing and drool running down your chin like it was 20 years ago once more.
